MSC Miami Cruise Terminal

Description of Project:

Hypower played a crucial role in delivering the new MSC Cruise Terminal at Port Miami—the world’s largest cruise terminal. As the Electrical contractor, Hypower partnered with FINCANTIERI and MSC Cruises to bring this transformative project to life. The terminal is the only one at the port capable of accommodating three cruise ships simultaneously. Hypower scope included full shore power connectivity at all berths, advanced lighting control systems, mass notification and life safety systems, and infrastructure to support the world’s largest cruise vessels. The terminal features a first-of-its-kind immersive digital art installation and incorporates future-forward technology to ensure seamless passenger flow. With sustainability at the core, Hypower delivered smart terminal systems that optimize efficiency and energy use. From May 2022 to opening day, the project demanded rigorous coordination, precise execution, and exceptional project management. The result is a world-class facility that redefines the cruise experience. Hypower’s contribution helped set a new standard for maritime infrastructure.

Scope Includes:

• Provide detailed shop drawings and coordination drawings in BIM format.
• Install FPL conduits for incoming primary power & emergency power to the terminal.
• Install main switchgear, Automatic Transfer Switches, Switchboards, Panelboards, Disconnect Switches
• Provide and install ETC Digital Lighting Control System integrated with LED, DMX, & DALI fixtures
• Provide power and lighting for cruise terminal, parking garage, concourse area, VIP Lounge, CBP area, office spaces.
• Provide and install a complete Fire Alarm system, which includes integration with VESDA, BDA, and smoke control systems.
• Provide a lightning protection system.
• Provide and install all street lighting.
• Leave provisions for a future EV charging station.
• Provide and install empty conduits for low-voltage and security systems.
• Provide and install conduit for the artwork projection system.
