Description of Project
Design-Build Replacement of Three Overhead 15 kV Feeders: Scope of work included the complete design and construction for the replacement of 11,200’ of overhead 15 kV feeder electrical distribution lines at the NASA John F. Kennedy Space Center. Design services included the preparation of permits and construction documents required for approval by the Government to facilitate construction.
G Line: Feeder 609 on Beach Road from Kennedy Parkway North eastward to pad mounted switch GG0100 near the Max Brewer Bridge. Replace existing overhead open wire construction with three-phase vertical construction with an overhead shield conductor.
B Line: Feeder 208 on Banana River Drive from VF1-23 at Kennedy Causeway East southward to LBS-59 at 10th Street in the KSC Industrial Area. Replace an existing 3 triplexed single conductor insulated 15kV line suspended from poles by a messenger wire with underground cable in conduit.
R Line: Feeder 201 along an unimproved section of Banana River Drive from LBS-28 on 10th Street between E and F Avenue in the KSC Industrial Area. Replace an existing 3 triplexed single conductor insulated 15kV cable line suspended from poles by a messenger wire with new three-phase vertical construction with an overhead shield conductor. Replace the cable for the existing underground 15kV cable portion.
