FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, June 11, 2026 – As the power contractor on the Hooker’s Point Resiliency Project, Hypower strengthened the electrical backbone serving Port Tampa Bay’s 295-acre Hooker’s Point peninsula — home to Foreign-Trade Zone No. 79 operations and a wide range of commercial, fuel, and maritime tenants.
Storm resiliency starts underground. Hypower’s work on the project included:
- Approximately 27,854 LF of underground conduit
- Directional boring and open-cut trenching, including beneath active CSX rail lines
- 7 manholes
- 20 precast pull/splice boxes
- 32 two-piece concrete pads
The result is better reliability, stronger storm resiliency, and the capacity to power the Port’s growth for years to come.
