Fort Lauderdale, Fla., April 14, 2021-
Hypower’s Holiday Picnic has historically been our largest corporate event, with over 800 in attendance each year celebrating Hypower employees, their families, and our commitment to our local community. Last year’s celebration though, due to the Coronavirus, had to be canceled.
This did not, however, dampen the spirit of the Hypower family. “When we realized our annual picnic would not be possible, we searched for other means of celebrating our employees and our community,” said Barry Olson, VP of Purchasing at Hypower. “Construction employees are considered essential workers and most of our employees have been able to remain productive and provide for their families during these difficult times. Others within our community have not been so fortunate. Because of this, all of us at Hypower decided to show our collective appreciation for those within our local community who are in need. Our solution was to increase our support for two local community resources who have made it their mission to make a direct positive impact upon our community members in need.”
“We should be very very proud that we were able to do this when these charities were suffering from other people not donating,” said Bernard Paul-Hus, president of Hypower. “We owe a debt of gratitude to those vendors for stepping up as well. And thank you very much for making this happen.”
With the help of vendor partners, Hypower raised nearly $25,000.00 in donations. Hypower matched those donations and the funds were directed to two critical local community resources: Handy and 4Kids. This represents a total of $50,000.00 to be invested into the families of the local community of which Hypower is a part of.
None of this could have been accomplished without the generosity of our vendor partners and we are truly grateful to be able to take an active role in giving back to a community that has supported Hypower as we have grown over the past 30 years.
