Hypower Inc. Renewable Energy Division Helps Port St. Lucie Civic Center Go Solar
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – January 30, 2010 – Hypower Inc.’s Renewable Energy Division just completed the engineering, procurement and construction of a significant ‘green’ energy project for the City of Port St. Lucie Civic Center, which produces approximately 220,000 watts of solar energy; saves 420,866 kilowatt hours of electricity per year; lowers carbon dioxide emissions by almost 366,350 pounds and generates $35,360 annually in electrical savings. The funding for this solar project came from an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy grant, made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Hypower’s Renewable Energy Division provided turn-key design and installation for this Solar Photovoltaic System. The solar array system is a photovoltaic laminate installed onto the current Civic Center roof and does not the status of the roof warranty. The roof panels are also able to sustain winds up to 155 mph, or a Category 5 Hurricane, without penetrating the roof.
