Hypower Inc. Renewable Energy Division Awarded Contract for VA Outpatient Clinic Solar PV System
Fort Lauderdale, FL - Janaury 3, 2011 - Hypower Inc.’s (Hypower) Renewable Energy Division Federal branch has expanded into California after being awarded a turn-key design/build Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System for the Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Mare Island, California as part of its GSA Schedule contract. The design by Hypower for the grid tied Solar PV system provides maximum energy generation and best return on investment for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The 109 kW system uses crystalline silicon panel technology with a ballasted roof mounting system requiring no roof penetrations.
The Outpatient Clinic is part of the Department of Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS), which is an integrated health care delivery system offering a comprehensive array of medical, surgical, rehabilitative, primary, mental health and extended care to veterans in Northern California.
“The projected annual energy savings to the VA from this Solar system is approximately 164,686 kWhr per year. This represents many environmental offsets, equivalent to saving 255,738 lbs. of CO2 annually; 23.42 cars not driven for the year; 14,514 Gallons of gasoline not burnt for the year; 297.37 barrels of foreign oil saved every year and 44.09 tons of waste recycled per year,” said Rich Paul-Hus, Senior Vice President of Hypower Inc. “Hypower is one of the most experienced full service Renewable Energy providers with Engineering, Procuring and Construction of more than 84 million Watts, either installed or currently under construction throughout the United States.
