Rock Springs 138/69KV Substation - Danville, VA

Description of Project:

Hypower will furnish labor, materials, and equipment for the construction and installation modifications to an existing substation. The project will facilitate connection of an additional main transformer for “Rock Springs 138/69 kV Substation” and will include additional ground grid, below grade ground connectors, all foundations except the transformer foundation and the control house foundations, above grade ground connectors and switch grounding mats and connectors for equipment and bus jumpers. City of Danville will provide all the below grade and above grade ground connectors, gravel for the site, all power and control cables. Hypower will provide all the concrete; rebar and conduits and is responsible for all steel erection. Hypower will provide all management, supervision, labor, equipment, tools, consumable supplies, warehousing, testing devices, concrete testing and material (except material listed as supplied by City of Danville.)

The project scope includes:

• Adding a new 138kV/69kV transformer, one 138kV
• 1200a breaker
• 3-108kv station class surge arrestor
• Three CCVT’s
• One 69-kV 2000a breaker
• One 69kV 2000a switch
• Three 69kV surge arrestors
• All associated bus work
