HypowerInc History

History

Grounded in Experience.

Our methods and practices have been developed and refined over years of practical, hands-on experience in the industry. Hypower traces its roots in Airport Services to 1991, installing airfield lighting, FAA navigation aid systems, and the related underground power distribution ductbanks at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Hypower's Airport Services Division positioned the company as a leader in the installation and design build of runway lighting and approach systems. Large-scale airport projects such as Denver International, Baltimore/Washington International, Miami International, Memphis International and Louisville International Airports have laid the groundwork for the Company we have become.  Using the most advanced and innovative strategies to develop your solution from start to finish, we believe Safety, Quality, and Productivity are the foundation for every level of the process to ensure complete Reliability. Typically, Hypower has the experience and resources to mobilize a project in less than a week!

  • In 2002, Hypower was in a dire situation; 9/11 was a difficult time for Hypower.
  • After the Telecom bubble burst, Hypower focused on public sector work on Airports. We were so successful 75% of our cash flow was coming from Airport work by mid 2001.
  • 9/11 happened and we were shut out from our jobsites completely.
  • With the SBA assistance, we decided to build the company in a different way.
  • Focus on Relationships.  Diversify the company.  Hire people of Good Character.

  • Formalized the Airfield Services Division
  • Leveraged existing reputation and relationships to get Commercial work. Did well. Formalized Commercial Electrical Division.
  • Recognized need to update/enhance the national power grid. With Florida growing quickly as a state, we knew demand would exceed supply of construction services - thus entered this market.
  • Formalized a division.
  • Leveraged relationships with Security company vendor. Entered Security Market.
  • In response to demand from commercial electrical clients, opened a service division.
  • Maintained a presence in the Telecom market with Fiber to Home opportunities. Formalized a division.
  • In anticipation for the push for “green” renewable energy, we entered the market.
  • Set sights on being first choice for services to largest customers in each service.
